This delightfully sweet publication written by Kate Eggleston-Wirtz is to be enjoyed by all ages. It contains 19 poems about insects and other small creatures whilst including subtle facts about each one that are woven into the text. The pamphlet also includes a Welcome poem and Letter of Appreciation. The text is presented in various poetic forms, some rhyming.

The poetry was inspired by Manchester Museum’s entomology collection whilst the author was an artist-in-residence at the museum in 2020. It was completed during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown. The four-colour cover image is a detail of the 3-d artwork produced during the residency. The title page shows the full artwork constructed out of a grandfather clock.

Throughout the pamphlet, the author/artist has also included black and white illustrations, enhancing the read but not overpowering the text.
