Red Shoes and Bare Feet features red shoes as a symbol of passion, love and the protection of confined vulnerable feet that so often yearn to break out and find freedom.
The surreal assemblage artwork with juxtaposed elements plays with the visual plane whilst exploring the joys and memories of childhood.
Elements of life’s encounters are visible on the Snakes and Ladders board and the red hotels from Monopoly are also used to symbolise childhood and play along with future travels. An original poem accompanies the work.
