MMCA CONFERENCE SEOUL, KOREA

Kate was invited by the British Council to be one of the featured speakers along with delivering workshops at the Museum for Everyone-Senior 2018, Museum Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul Korea from 3rd December – 5th December 2018.

She worked with those living with dementia and their carers focusing on the theme of ‘House and Garden’. Participants got stuck in exploring materials, created their own house and shared their stories with a translator working closely with both Kate and the participants. Participants also had options to draw or write. It was a special sharing of culture. Kate brought in personal objects to explore and use as inspiration of things related to house and garden. She also brought with her materials to be used and explored i.e.
1913 Blackpool Gazette and old maps. A moving experience for all involved.

Kate delivered a workshop as training for 30 heritage/healthcare professionals and artists on the previous day.

“The program or your work was very beautiful and interesting. But the most impressive thing was your small consideration through props or clothes, and your sincere attitude toward the participants…I learned a lot about consideration and attitude. Thank you.”
