I was commissioned by Manchester Museum to create a giant number one celebrating the first year of the museum’s reopening following several years of redevelopment and new building works. The number was constructed in my studio and created out of upcycled cardboard, before being transported to the museum.
I delivered workshops whereby participants covered the number in the style of work by British Sculptor Hew Locke, which included draping ribbon and attaching objects. After the workshops, the number went on display as part of the anniversary celebrations.
